  16. Should I use the iTunes EQ in conjunction with my iWOW?

  1. I previously owned iWOW 1, tried the trial version of iWOW 2, and want to go back to iWOW1, but the reinstall does not work.

You need to download the reverting version of iWOW from here to go back to iWOW 1: http://www.srslabs.com/srsproduct/iwow1.1.asp

  2. Why does my registration number not work?

Please note that the Registration Number is case-sensitive and MUST be entered in CAPS. Be certain that you do not enter a zero in place of the letter "O" and vice-versa.

  3. Why can’t I see the iWOW after I have opened iTunes?
  4. Make certain that you select iTunes and go the ‘Window’ menu, then choose the iWOW in order to view it.

  5. Why isn’t the effect doing anything?
  6. The effect might be inactive, make sure that the “ON/OFF” button on the iWOW is “on”. This button is in the upper left corner of the iWOW.

  7. How can I tell if the plug-in is enabled/active or not when I am not playing anything?
  8. The “On/Off” button on the iWOW should be blue if it is on. This button is in the upper left corner of the iWOW.

  9. Why does the volume seem really low?
  10. Make sure that the “Input Volume” slider on the far left side of the iWOW is all the way up. Then slowly bring it down to a level that suits you. If it is too far down, then the volume will seem very low. Also, realize that the iTunes volume control may also be set too low. The iWOW Input Volume slider and the iTunes volume control work independently of each other.

  11. Why is the sound really “mushy” and “muffled”?
  12. You might have the wrong speaker setting size selected. Either use the setting buttons for your speaker type (headphone, desktop speakers, or laptop speakers), shown as three buttons below the “Presets” option, or adjust the TruBass “size” and “level” parameters until the sound pleases you.

  13. Why do my custom settings disappear when I click the “Presets” ?
  14. Factory settings are used when the presets are chosen. They override your custom settings.

  15. How do I make the iWOW smaller?
  16. To make the iWOW smaller, click the ‘+’ button in the upper left hand corner—see below. To expand the iWOW again to its original size, click the ‘+’ again.

  17. I can’t see anything when I try to use Help?
  18. First, check that you are running update 1.1.1 or later and update if not. There is a known issue with help in version 1.1. If help still doesn't appear, then the help cache may have gotten corrupted. Please visit the following site for information on resetting the help cache: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/helpviewer.html#Anchor-Reset-35882

  19. How do I uninstall the iWOW trial?
  20. We have included the uninstall file in the installer package for the iWOW. If you have already deleted the package:

For iWOW Version 2 users: iWOW 2.0 can also be uninstalled now by going to the Applications/SRS Labs/iWOW folder and choosing the ‘uninstall’ file from there.

For iWOW Version 1.1 users: you can simply download it from the link below and run the 'uninstall' file from there.
    http://www.srslabs.com/iwow

If this does not work, you can manually uninstall iWOW by going to the folder /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/ and deleting the iWOW file from there.

For iWOW Version 1.0 users: You can manually uninstall iWOW by going to the folder /Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/ and deleting the iWOW file there.

  21. Will iWOW work with Airport Express or any Airport devices?
  22. iWOW is currently NOT compatible with any Airport devices.

  23. After running the installer or an update to iWOW, the plug-in isn't showing up in iTunes.
  24. Be sure to close iTunes when performing a new installation or update. If iTunes is left open, iWOW will not appear in the menu or the existing version may not be replaced properly during an update. If you did close iTunes while installing or updating and iWOW still isn't appearing in iTunes, be sure you have the latest version. If this still isn't working, contact customer support.

  25. I installed or updated iWOW, but it does not appear when I open iTunes.
  26. This may be due to having another conflicting plug-in installed on your Mac. In particular, the JackRouter plug-in (part of Jack OSX) is known to cause this issue. The solution to this is to try removing the other plug-in.

  27. I have installed Volume Logic's beta plug-in and iWOW no longer works/iTunes hangs-why is this?
  28. Currently there is a conflict between Volume Logic's beta and iWOW. The current workaround is to remove Volume Logic's plug-in.

  29. Should I use the iTunes EQ in conjunction with my iWOW?
  30. We typically would recommend against using iTunes EQ in conjunction with the iWOW, to obtain the optimal sound quality.
